Wendy Dolan - Textile Landscapes


Wendy is a freelance artist, designer and tutor working in stitched textiles. She is a member of The Society of Designer Craftsmen and The Sussex Guild of Designers and Makers.


Living close to the South Downs provides a continuous source of inspiration for her stitched textile designs. She explores surface texture

 by building up layers of fabric and stitch.Backgrounds are painted and printed, then worked into with surface stitching. Other themes include Natural Forms, Ancient Relics and Architecture.


She welcome commissions large and small and has designed for both Private and Corporate clients.

Recent large scale commissions have included two embroidered stage curtains for two Royal Caribbean cruise liners - Legend of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas, each measuring 13metres x 4.5 metres and  ĎAspiring Archesí, a large stitched Millennium wall hanging for Ashridge in Hertfordshire, measuring 8.2 metres x 3.4 metres
